The Skinner Family

Senior Pastor Kyle and Michelle Skinner
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us…. It is the verse found in Ephesians 3:20 that I think of every time when presenting what God has done in my life.
In my mid-twenties, my grandfather was diagnosed with terminal cancer.  God impressed on me to write a letter to my grandparents on how to receive Christ.  Having been raised in and out of church and living a party lifestyle since high school I felt inadequate and unqualified but went ahead and wrote it.  God not only used this letter to present the Gospel to my grandfather shortly before his death but to confirm that God had not designed me to live for myself.  It was then that I surrendered my life to Christ.
In 2007, God again went exceedingly abundantly above my expectations and gave me a beautiful wife, Michelle, who loves the Lord.  We were blessed with 3 sons, Kaleb, Ethan and Luke.  During this time God led me to serve in junior high.  Through God’s power, He helped me love and serve this age group. My plan coming out of college was to acquire my dad’s financial advising business. That desire began to change as I served in junior high.  In 2013, God provided and confirmed a position to lead junior high at Calvary Chapel Tri-Cities.
In Spring of 2018, I was asked to change roles and began leading the Singles Ministry. At the end of December that same year, I got a call to pray about coming along side Wayne at Calvary Chapel Billings.  My wife and I visited the church in February and enjoyed the sweet and friendly congregation!  We prayed and asked the Lord for direction.  He gave us peace and confirmation that Billings would be our new home.  A clear verse from the Lord was to return to the land of your forefathers.  Gen 31:2 My parents were born and raised here in Billings.
In July of 2019, my family moved here to begin ministering to the people of Billings.  We are blessed to be serving is such a loving congregation. We are excited to watch how God uses this church to reach the city of Billings, as we grow in our relationship with Him.

“I have always been what I would call a, “Calvary Chapel Guy”, though I have not always been a part of the Calvary Movement. I was saved at age thirteen at a summer camp near my hometown of Yakima Washington. I felt the call of God on my life in my youth and began preparing to go to my denominations Bible College to prepare for the ministry.

After graduation from college my wife, (whom I met and married while in Bible College) and I entered the ministry and served as youth pastor, music pastor and as senior pastor in several churches in Washington and Oregon until 1991 when we accepted the pastorate of Calvary Chapel in White Rock British Columbia. That was our entrance into the Calvary movement and we immediately knew we were home. We served as senior pastor for two and one half years in White Rock and then moved to Billings and began this fellowship as a Bible study in our home.
